Geographies of Care maps care demand, supply, and infrastructure across New York City to reveal spatial mismatches in the city's care systems. The project builds tract-level maps of care needs—children and older adult populations—alongside the location of care workers and care facilities, including schools, daycares, and health services. Funded by the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility and the Urban Space Lab.

Co-developed a grant program funding cultural organizations working on environmental justice, waste management, and support for wastepicker organizations. I participated in all stages of the initiative, from technical design through implementation and assessment. The inaugural edition awarded eight Bogotá-based organizations for work ranging from translating recycling information into Indigenous languages to producing a puppet opera about waste and painting murals on environmental justice. The image shows a paca biodigestora, a compost box built by the community. As an advisor to Power Compost, I supported a systems-change experiment addressing organic waste management in Chía, Colombia. The project built community ownership among citizens, schools, and environmental leaders, producing a community-driven Environmental Classrooms Network, a digital platform for ongoing collaboration, and a policy brief for local government. The project was funded through Sida and EIT Climate-KIC's Experimentation Fund and presented at the Systems Innovation Learning Partnership Festival. Read more about Chía Reconnects here.

Type: Editorial Design
This project proposes a publishing house dedicated to 19th-century Colombian literature now in the public domain. The initiative focuses on producing low-cost, accessible editions that bring forgotten authors back into public view, while preserving the historical and cultural value of these original texts. By combining editorial design, typographic care, and strategic production choices, the project seeks to make heritage literature both visible and widely available to contemporary readers.

Catatumbo is an editorial design project that explores how creative practices engage with the Colombian armed conflict. Through the curation and visual articulation of diverse artistic and design initiatives, the project examines how image-making, spatial practices, and material experimentation contribute to processes of memory, critique, and reflection. Combining original photography, archival material, and graphic composition, the publication constructs a visual narrative that situates design as both a tool of analysis and a medium for political engagement. The project positions editorial design as a platform for dialogue, making visible the multiple ways creative work confronts, interprets, and responds to conflict.
